Change of title?

edit

This seems to be a list of Nazi suicides, which is a relevant article, but doesn't fit the title: for example, it doesn't include the suicides of many Jewish Germans threatened with deportation to the camps. I move the title be changed to "List of Nazi suicides". — Preceding unsigned comment added by Harsimaja (talkcontribs) 20:54, 1 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

I would like to resurrect the above request from 2017 that apparently never was acted upon. The title of the article is "Suicides in Nazi Germany". However, it is incorrect on two counts. First, the list contains nearly 50 names of persons who committed suicide after the de facto end of Nazi Germany on 8 May 1945, and 20 names after the de jure abolition of Nazi Germany by the Berlin declaration of 5 June 1945. The latest addition to the article is a suicide that took place in 1967. Secondly, it lists many suicides that took place outside of Nazi Germany, including in the Soviet Union, Hungary, Romania, Argentina, France, Norway, Belgium, the Netherlands, etc. Even accounting for suicides in areas controlled or occupied by Nazi Germany, the title is still not accurate. I think the time has come to rename the article, which is preferable to purging it of names that do not perfectly fit the title. The prior editor suggested "List of Nazi suicides". That seems workable and certainly an improvement, but perhaps other suggestions may be offered? Thoughts? Comments? Historybuff0105 (talk) 20:51, 30 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

sort by age of suicide. yeah... it doesn't sort properly as of this edit.

I have removed sortability from that column for the time being.— Diannaa (talk) 22:18, 31 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
