Repeated removal of content on this page

edit

Technical 13 has now deleted nearly all of the content on this page for at least the fifth time, despite the objections of at least three other editors [1]' [2] [3] and xis position being rejected by consensus in the recently closed Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of tallest buildings in Cyprus. These removals are contrary to consensus. The arguments made for these repeated deletions are not supported by policy, either: there is basis to remove a building on a "tallest buildings" page simply because it doesn't have its own article, there are no irremediable copyright violations, and to the extent primary sources are used, those uses are permitted under WP:PRIMARY. --Arxiloxos (talk) 03:57, 13 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

  • Restoring information that has been reverted without discussion simply because there are a bunch of other similar pages is not a valid reason. Adding items to a list that aren't notable enough on their own to warrant them having their own page isn't allowed as we're not here to have indiscriminate lists. The consensus in the deletion discussion was for this list page, was simply that the page would be kept, there was no consensus there that it was okay to add items to the list that simply have no place. I can't find any third party reliable sources for these "other" buildings, and therefore they are not notable. If anyone does have some, I encourage you to create a stub article for the building and then add it to the list. As far as adding a separate section for future buildings not yet constructed, if you can create an article for those buildings that is neutral and is backed by reliable third party sources that doesn't violate FUTURE, I encourage this. — {{U|Technical 13}} (etc) 04:09, 13 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
Isn't this type of list clearly permitted by WP:CSC#3: "short, complete lists of every item that is verifiably a member of the group"? In any event , I have posted a notice about this discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Skyscrapers. --Arxiloxos (talk) 04:32, 13 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
  • Only when the number of blue links > than the number of red links per CSC#3 For example, if reliable sources indicate that a complete list would include the names of ten notable businesses and two non-notable businesses, then you are not required to omit the two non-notable businesses. and the paragraph directly below it "Creation guide" lists—lists devoted to a large number of redlinked (unwritten) articles—don't belong in the main namespace. An interesting essay that reflects a good part of my position here is Wikipedia:Write the article first. Happy editing. — {{U|Technical 13}} (etc) 15:42, 13 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
Consensus has already decided that this list is appropriate; you disagreed, but that doesn't justify removing valid information from the list, making it inaccurate. --Arxiloxos (talk) 17:58, 13 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Data in sort-list does not correspond to data as in sources

It is stated that Olympic Towers have a height of 75 meters yet in the List section, two other buildings with lower height precede the former.

The correct way should be Tower A and Tower B (Olympic Towers) to be at the top. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.206.251.76 (talk) 16:16, 8 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Cyprus Trade Bank was noted as the tallest building in Cyprus until 2013, yet Olympic Towers were completed in 2012. Date has to change to reflect this fact. Also, there's a note for Shacolas Tower that will be the tallest building in Cyprus once completed. Shacolas tower has finished construction and has been open to public for decades. Note has to be removed.

tallest building in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus

edit

i would like to know if there is any info on the tallest building/structure on the turkish side? from my research, the Northernland Premiere building in famagusta is currently the tallest being 80 metres tall[1] [2],

however i have heard that the "grand sapphire" project in Iskele is taller, and since premiere is 24 storeys tall [3] and grand sapphire is 31 [4], the latter should be taller, i am unsure, please let me know if anyone has info.

Why do the High-Rise Buildings (50-100 meters) have no images? They shall deserve one image each as the ones above! 2A02:810D:4ABF:DBE4:A1A5:4B1F:6CF:1087 (talk) 13:28, 10 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
