Perhaps cititons is not neccessary when the name in already linked. --85.226.46.178 (talk) 09:24, 3 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

They are, I'm afraid. Wikipedia policy requires each item in a list to be sourced, and not just by another Wikipedia article. SP-KP (talk) 19:17, 3 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
I see. I just thought about the fact that the linked names lead to articles which are already (hopefully) referenced there. --85.226.44.41 (talk) 11:03, 19 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
I don't see why they have to be sourced in a list-article. The majority of them link to articles, were they are referenced. Thereby, can they be said to be sourced by Wikipedia? In those articles, they are after all properly referenced by other sources than Wikipedia. n those circumstances, only the red-linked names seem important to reference. --Aciram (talk) 11:43, 23 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Russia?

edit

Does Russia count to Europe? In that case: Ekaterina Furtseva, first woman in the Politburo.--85.226.44.238 (talk) 14:01, 9 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

I just included a section:

Why only Europe?

edit

Why does this list only include European countries? Perhaps it would be a good idea to rename it List of the first female holders of political office, so it could include also the rest of the world? If it becomes to long, it can always be split in two. --Aciram (talk) 10:28, 21 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

It's been split for length reasons already, but for some reason the naming got inconsistent at some point. List of the first female holders of political offices used to contain all continents. 77.215.191.91 (talk) 10:46, 21 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
I see, I had no idea. Thank you!--Aciram (talk) 15:34, 21 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

General Secretary of the Trades Union Congress

edit

A quick question. I'm wondering if the General Secretary of the Trades Union Congress would be eligible for this list. I'm not sure it would because although it's a political office it isn't part of the structure of government. Any thoughts? This is Paul (talk) 00:45, 27 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
