Can someone please explain what the ♦ and ♦♦ are intended to denote. I cannot see any logic to it, nor any key on the article to provide elaboration. Thank you. Olana North (talk) 11:16, 1 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

The editor that added them explains their meaning at Talk:List of town tramway systems in Oceania. I'm not convinced they serve any valuable purpose, and as the significance is not at all obvious, they could easily be deleted without detracting from the article. --DAJF (talk) 11:26, 1 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

How does Wantage Tramway meet the criteria for inclusion?

edit

On the main List of town tramway systems page, the list of criteria for inclusion say that steam tram systems must use a specific type of tram engine, completely enclosed with no steam or smoke emissions and no visible machinery more than 10 cm (4") above the track. I have seen pictures of the Wantage Tramway and the engine preserved at the Didcot Railway Centre, and it appears to be a conventional tank engine. Does it not therefore qualify as a light railway under Wikipedia's own definitions? --Nick xylas (talk) 15:39, 18 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Metrolink is not unique to Manchester, it operates in Bury, Oldham, Stretford, Eccles, Rochdale, etc etc. It is a conurbation-wide system, and shouldn't be listed under Manchester alone. --Jza84 |  Talk  15:49, 25 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
