Talk:List of universities in South Africa

Talk about the true List of Universities in South Africa.

South African Universities serve the Southern African region with Education and Development. Many private Schools are taking hands to form a International University, based in South Africa with a Virtual University in Kroonstad. Many universities around the world would like to take hands with this International University to develop those who may not be able to afford courses in higher learning. Already they received affiliation with ITSC in the USA. Accredited by CANUS in Nigeria, Business Courses from the UK are in the process and a university in India gave the green light for cooperation. The Name of this new university is New World Mission Dunamis International University with Professor Louis Mathys De Bruin appointed as President.

Military Academy

edit

The South African Military Academy is part of Stellenbosch University so it should not be listed separately. Roger (talk) 16:34, 18 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

I feel the image galleries help to convey the character of each university and thus I added them. It seems no other page contains such a collection. However I'm unsure if adding them goes against policy or practice in list articles. Please enlighten me. Purple Duke (talk) 19:21, 15 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

I think the galleries are fine, though perhaps it would be better to have a single gallery at the end of the "Current Official South African Universities" section, rather than one for each subsection. At least for now, since we don't have many images for the comprehensive unis and the technikons. The "official" policy about image galleries is at WP:IG; it's not terribly clear and I wouldn't want to venture an opinion about whether use here satisfies that policy. - htonl (talk) 20:04, 15 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. I agree a single gallery might be more appropriate at present and have changed it as proposed.Purple Duke (talk) 05:32, 16 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

UNIZULU missing on this page

edit

This list of public universities in SA does not include the University of Zululand, an historically disadvantaged institution established in 1960, currently celebrating its 60th anniversary. Details for UNIZULU can be drawn from www.unizulu.ac.za.

UNIZULU falls into the category of Comprehensive universities. 105.184.90.200 (talk) 18:00, 19 February 2020 (UTC)Laila Vahed, Director Library and Information Services, University of Zululand.Reply

It's already listed under Comprehensive Universities. Greenman (talk) 20:16, 19 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
