Bree Olson eats bone marrow, lobster, oysters and butter. If we are citing evidence from personal social media profiles then they should definitely be removed from the list. Psychologist Guy (talk) 12:39, 18 August 2023 (UTC)
- Yes, I agree. I had not found these Facebook posts but I listed her as an ex-vegan today for posting caviar on her Instagram. RabbitFromMars (talk) 12:52, 18 August 2023 (UTC)
- The problem with social media posts is that you cannot trust them. They are not reliable sources. But photographs are different. In April 2016, Bree Olson wrote on Facebook "I had slipped away from a #vegandiet and I'm the sickest I've been in my life. Today is the day I say goodbye to meat and dairy forever." [1], but if you click on the Facebook posts above within a year she was eating oysters. You can see from the other posts she also eats bone marrow and lobster. Like I said this is a very difficult subject. I would prefer to cite reliable independent secondary sources but if there is obvious photographic evidence from social media posts it is hard to ignore. Betty Logan has done a lot of work on this article and talk-page, it would be interesting to know what they think about social media posts regarding this topic. I agree with you that Bree Olson is not a vegan so if either of you want to remove her from the list I would support that. Psychologist Guy (talk) 13:37, 18 August 2023 (UTC)
- I think you can trust social media posts if they come from a confirmed/verified account, in the sense that they count as self-published primary sources. Betty Logan (talk) 14:53, 18 August 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks, that makes sense. I have removed her from the list. I am sure there will be others. Psychologist Guy (talk) 21:33, 18 August 2023 (UTC)

Daisy Ridley was never a vegan, she has admitted to eating fish and instead calls herself a "cheagan" [2], [3] Psychologist Guy (talk) 21:32, 18 August 2023 (UTC)
- She did say she was a cheagan in 2017. But she called herself a vegan on several occasions since then. For a recent film, they had to replace cottage cheese with a vegan look-alike because she was vegan.[4] That seems to indicate she went 100 % plant-based. RabbitFromMars (talk) 18:25, 29 August 2023 (UTC)
There is some weird stuff on Novak Djokovic's Wikipedia article "He eventually settled on a vegan diet, while later sometimes eating fish. He also claims this vegan, plant-based diet cured his persistent allergies and mild asthma." Djokovic is a fish-eater, not a vegan. I would suggest his Wikipedia article should be updated. He should also be added to the disputed list here. Psychologist Guy (talk) 20:37, 27 August 2023 (UTC)
- To my knowledge, he has actually been 100% plant-based for years now and belongs on the vegan list (although he doesn't use the word vegan for himself). He also names ethical reasons for eating this way. [5] The article saying he ate fish is from 2016. RabbitFromMars (talk) 18:10, 29 August 2023 (UTC)
- This source from 2019 (The Telegraph) says he eats "chicken and fish to help his body repair overnight" [6]. He published a cookbook in 2013 which contains chicken and fish recipes [7]. I find it unlikely he is vegan but we need good sourcing on it. It would be nice to hear a recent interview with him telling us about his diet. From what I can see he is promoting gluten free fads. Psychologist Guy (talk) 19:34, 29 August 2023 (UTC)
- I clicked on the essentiallysports link, it does indeed quote Djokovic in his own words claiming to be plant-based. It's probably worth looking around to see if we have any other recent sources on this to verify it. On the link you provided I see there was an article on Tom Brady, he's also someone who is sometimes confused as a vegan, it might be worth adding him to the list. Psychologist Guy (talk) 19:40, 29 August 2023 (UTC)
Courtney Act "I have been a vegetarian for over a decade now" [8] published in January 2023. I cannot find any claims where she has said in her words to being vegan. The reference on the list does not claim Courtney Act is a vegan so this is original research and a failed citation. Psychologist Guy (talk) 23:24, 3 September 2023 (UTC)
Jhené Aiko eats seafood as seen here [9], this was picked up by various news outlets. I believe she should be removed from the list. Psychologist Guy (talk) 23:33, 3 September 2023 (UTC)
Can we please not be such gatekeepers. The list of vegans is for people who eat 100 % plant-based, as is noted in the article. Rosanna Davison does that, as far as we know. Nobody is 100 % vegan. Let her ride horses or whatever. RabbitFromMars (talk) 21:01, 4 September 2023 (UTC)
- Rosanna Davison has said she is not vegan in her own words. "In response Rosanna said that she ‘doesn’t claim to be a vegan: 'I just follow a plant-based diet. I don’t claim to follow a vegan lifestyle,' she said. [10]. She has specifically said she is not vegan therefore it would be original research (WP:OR) to claim she is vegan. If someone identifies as "plant-based", this is not vegan. The person must describe themself as vegan or be described as vegan by a good source to be included on the list. Please see our article on plant-based diet. Plant-based diets and veganism are not the same. I understand what point you are trying to make but we can't do original research here. If we start including people who identify as "plant-based" on the vegan list it will mess the entire list up. Most people who identify as "plant-based" include eggs or fish in their diet. Psychologist Guy (talk) 18:13, 5 September 2023 (UTC)
- Plant-based means 100 % plant-based. It's another word for vegan diet, because vegans don't like the word vegan stuck to just a diet. Anyone who uses plant-based in another sense is not very smart or a liar. RabbitFromMars (talk) 22:27, 5 September 2023 (UTC)
- "Plant-based" is defined in the medical literature as "a dietary pattern in which foods of animal origin are totally or mostly excluded [11]. If someone is described as "plant-based" they cannot be put on the list of vegans because there is no evidence they are vegan (we do not know which type of plant-based diet they are eating). "Plant-based diets" include pescetarianism, flexitarianism and lacto-ovo vegetarianism. Unless the specific word "vegan" is used we cannot add people to the list per WP:OR. Psychologist Guy (talk) 23:06, 5 September 2023 (UTC)

Boy George has never claimed to be a vegan, "I’m vegetarian, not vegan. I couldn’t live in a world without cheese… I have cheese every day." [12]. He should be removed from the list. Psychologist Guy (talk) 23:50, 3 September 2023 (UTC)
- Stop saying never, please. The link in the article implies he was a raw vegan. He did claim to be a vegan. RabbitFromMars (talk) 21:03, 4 September 2023 (UTC)
- The link cited on the article is from 2014. He has never claimed to be vegan, that was a question given to him and nowhere in the interview did he admit to being a vegan specifically. I have just given you a direct quote "I’m vegetarian, not vegan" (from November 2022). Here is a tweet from 2013 "Im not Vegan or raw. I have lots of vegan and raw food. I don't have cows produce ever! I am gay though!" [13]
- He also eats sweets that contain gelatin [14]. Let's be accurate, there is no reason to pretend certain celebrities are vegan when they are not. I understand celebrities have fans and fans sometimes feel the need to boost up their hero by believing lies but we need to keep the list as accurate as possible. Boy George is a not a vegan, it would be ridiculous to claim otherwise when he has denied it in his own words. Psychologist Guy (talk) 18:06, 5 September 2023 (UTC)
- Boy George when he was on I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! in 2022 requested vegetarian options for his trial, this included him eating a fermented duck egg [15]. I have removed him from the list. Psychologist Guy (talk) 20:09, 5 September 2023 (UTC)
- I did not question that he is not currently a vegan. It just seems you are very harsh on people who quit veganism, for example deleting information on them being awarded by vegan organisations in the past in their articles, or using language like "It's obvious he was never a vegan or vegetarian", which you are not in the position to judge.
- Please adhere to a more scientific approach. RabbitFromMars (talk) 22:22, 5 September 2023 (UTC)
- You have not provided any evidence that Boy George was vegan. We have to go with what the reliable sources say, not what we want to believe. Everything I have said on here is backed by sourcing. There is no good sourcing claiming Boy George is a vegan. We need to keep the list as accurate as possible. The award you were talking about is PETA "sexiest vegan", there was an RFC on this a few years ago and the conclusion is that PETA as an advocacy group is an unreliable source for biographies of living persons. I remember that two admins deleted mention of PETA on many biographies. Psychologist Guy (talk) 23:18, 5 September 2023 (UTC)
Nick Knowles is not a vegan. "[Knowles] is picking over a breakfast of scrambled eggs and mushrooms at the Windsor hotel in which we meet – his new regime means he is vegan “80 per cent of the time”, while vegetarian living and the odd “cheat day” make up the rest [16]. I wish users that added people to the list in the past would have done more research. He is being removed from the list. Psychologist Guy (talk) 11:14, 6 September 2023 (UTC)
Eric Roberts used to be vegan [17] but gave up being vegan in 2017 "Today, the couple, who have been married since the early 1990s, live in Sherman Oaks, California, where they tend to a slew of cats and dogs. They also have a sanctuary on their property for rescued squirrels. For a while, the two were both vegans, but Roberts fell off the wagon recently. “It’s just really hard being a vegan,” he says. [18] Psychologist Guy (talk) 21:21, 26 November 2023 (UTC)
Theo Rossi is not vegan, he has always eaten eggs. "For the last few decades, Rossi has eaten a mostly plant-based diet, though he will introduce eggs if he wants to or needs the extra protein for a role. The pita bread at Bavel has eggs in it, and today, he's eating eggs" [19]. Psychologist Guy (talk) 01:14, 5 December 2023 (UTC)
There is no good sourcing indicating Robin Gibb was a vegan, nor does his Wikipedia article say this. This article said he was eating ice cream his favourite food [20]. He said here he was on a vegetarian diet [21] Psychologist Guy (talk) 20:01, 7 December 2023 (UTC)
A source used on the article claims that Baldwin went vegan in 2011 but this is very unlikely. On Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee: Alec Baldwin in August 2012, he ordered and ate a "tuna fish salad" which can be seen in this video [22] at 5:54. A year before this he wrote, "I have no appetite for pork or beef at all. I eat fish and eggs. I love fish, but I have been mindful of information I have gotten". [23]. It's obvious Baldwin is not a vegan, he eats fish.
Another source from June 2013, "Alec Baldwin had lunch with a friend at Bostwick’s. The duo beat the sweltering heat eating indoors and enjoying lobster fritters, Manhattan clam chowder, and a lobster roll with fresh iced tea." [24]
Another source from November 2016 says that Baldwin and his wife Hilaria cook "quinoa bowls or fish with roasted vegetables, right on the stovetop or in the oven". [25]
Baldwin eats clam chowder, lobsters, tuna etc. He should be removed from the vegan list. Psychologist Guy (talk) 15:54, 25 January 2024 (UTC)
Michelle Pfeiffer is not a vegan, she is a large fish eater and well known for her paleo diet advocacy [26], [27], [28], [29], "her Paleo diet revolves around mostly fish, leans meats, fruits, vegetables, seeds, and nuts" [30]. Also "In recent years, Pfeiffer has swapped to a Paleo diet, full of lean meat and veggies, and drinks at least two litres of water a day" [31] Psychologist Guy (talk) 16:40, 26 January 2024 (UTC)
Beverley Callard is not vegan. "On Monday night, Bev was spotted tucking into a scotch egg" [32], she also ate butter [33]. There are no good WP:RS documenting her veganism since 2020. Her alleged vegan diet was likely a publicity stunt so she could get out of trials on I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! (British TV series) in 2020. We need good WP:RS. Callard should be removed from the list. Psychologist Guy (talk) 19:03, 26 January 2024 (UTC)
