Jesse Macbeth
editI removed Jesse Macbeth because he is not a veteran. By saying former member, I assume what was meant is that he used to be a member of IVAW, which is at the end of this list under see also. This list is more generic, not just members of one specific organization. Nathanm mn 06:15, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
For the war?
editIs there a list of "List of veterans for the Iraq War" article?
No that list would be short. "Every soldier worth his salt should be anti-war" -anonomouys marine. Also I am assuming since we are icluding hackworth that this list includes dead vets right? Also I would like to see If we can get at least some brief Bios on some of the red-links. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.84.203.171 (talk) 07:03, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
List needs major cleaning
editI see many names here without articles, or even citations (red text names). Also, a large number of these people have no mention of veteran status in their articles. For now I'm adding a disputed list tag, although there should probably be more warning then that as this gets into WP:BLP territory. Krushia 03:41, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
- I've gone through and taken a quick look at the various names. Those without military status and/or whose articles do not mention Iraq, Saddam, the War, Bush, etc., are deleted with appropriate edit notes. More importantly, I've renamed the article.--S. Rich (talk) 13:22, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
Whenever necsesary, I also include citations that indicate either military status and/or Iraq war positions.-Chester Polarbear
Those who changed their positions, or have nuanced postions
editSome veterans changed their positions. It would clarify things to the reader if we made an asterisk beside those. For example, Henry Kissinger had a nuanced position: He supported the original invasion. Does he still? Also, is he presently "critical" about only some aspects of the war - but not all aspects? Was he always that way on those certain aspects? The use of the word "critical" in the title of this article is not precise enough. Perhaps several types of asterisks are needed - each with an explanation below. Or, instead of asterisks, should there be subcategories to this article?
What do others think?

Veterans of which war?
editThe title does not specify whether the veterans were veterans of the Iraq war of some other war. In my eyes, this is a major omission which could mislead hurried readers who don't immediately consider nuances. For example there was a controversy about whether George W. Bush, the person responsible for starting the Iraq war, himself, could be considered a "veteran." (See George W. Bush military service controversy). I also noticed that Henry Kissinger is on this "List of veterans critical of the Iraq War." Boyd Reimer (talk) 14:26, 27 January 2013 (UTC)
