Talk:List of video games published by 2K Games

New Article

The list of video games published by 2K Games can already be found in the 2K Games article. I would highly recommend, though, that a page be created for the list of video games published by Take-Two Interactive, as there is currently not one. The list would include all of the games published and/or developed by Take-Two's subsidiaries, like 2K Sports and Rockstar Games (and obviously 2K Games). The plan for this article is to make a list that is sortable and more comprehensive than the one at the 2K Games article. It might not be a bad idea to make one article for all of Take-Two's subsidiaries. – Zntrip 05:04, 26 January 2013 (UTC)

I'm wondering, because Take-Two Interactive is not only a publisher, but a developer, too. I actually have the same concern. For example, List of Rockstar games lists both games that have been developed and published. We can start a Take-Two page anytime, so there is no rush. I think that page should only include games that were published by the company. We can continue to work on the individual articles and merge them all when we are ready. What's complicated is figuring out when each company was owned by Take-Two. The subsidiaries include 2K Games, 2K Play, 2K Sports, and Rockstar Games and the now defunct Global Star Software. I'm confident that one Take-Two page is feasible, but it is an ambitious project and will take some time. – Zntrip 18:35, 26 January 2013 (UTC)

The only other concern I have is for the accuracy of the list. Take-Two's official site has a list, but it seems to be a little disorderly. For example, Bioshock Infinite will be released in March, while Grand Theft Auto V only has a release date of Spring 2013. Chances are, Infinite will be released first, yet the top of the list on the website lists GTA V. Other titles also seem to not be in chronological order (by release date). Looking back, Infinite wasn't even listed, but it was featured on the main page of the site in the "Coming Soon" section. There isn't an option to sort the games by date on Take-Two's list, so we could either put up with it, find another, better source, or use the other pages' lists as a resource. I think the best sources would be IGN and MobyGames, both of which have lists of games by publisher. The list that we are making, List of games published by Take-Two Interactive, should have an additional sixth column that lists the Take-Two subsidiary that published the game. There have been quite a few subsidiaries and acquisitions (listed here). This article can be redirected to the new article and List of Rockstar games can be renamed List of video games developed by Rockstar Games and left unchanged. – Zntrip 00:40, 27 January 2013 (UTC)

Actually, I think the article should be titled List of Take-Two Interactive games. I would prefer a more specific name, like List of games published by Take-Two Interactive, though. However, Take-Two publishes and develops games, so it should just be one article. Also, IGN is usually slightly outdated. I'll look at MobyGames and other sites meanwhile. Excellent! I'll create the article. Oh, and also, silly me! The list on Take-Two's website is fine. I checked back and I found out that the reason why it looked so disorderly to me was because the non-featured games were all in alphabetical order. While the list's games can't be viewed according to date, the information is completely accurate. Check out List of Take-Two Interactive video games.
