– English Wikipedia does not have any years articles for U.S. states. Per article title policy, specifically WP:QUALIFIER, we only disambiguate with topics covered in Wikipedia (emphasis mine), so these titles should not include parenthetical disambiguation. It does not make sense for these to be disambiguated when the base names do not exist, nor is it consistent with policy for the base name to redirect there (see WP:MISPLACED). The best we can do to address astonishment for those seeking content on the U.S. state is likely to use hatnotes to link to History of Georgia (U.S. state) or the appropriate section of it. Note that the articles for years 2018, 2019, and 2020 were previously boldly moved by Oeoi for this reason. Mdewman6 (talk) 20:23, 4 September 2023 (UTC) — Relisting. - Oppose per WP:PRECISE. Every year happened in the U. S. state too. MISPLACED does not apply as the redirects don't presently exist. And to be perfectly honest, I think proposing a move with an essay written entirely by oneself is somewhat misleading of community consensus on the matter. estar8806 (talk) ★ 20:48, 4 September 2023 (UTC)
- Community consensus is reflected in policy, here WP:QUALIFIER. Explanatory essays, by definition, are not meant to reflect community consensus, but to explain interpretations of policy and guidelines, and are linked in discussions to avoid the need to make the same arguments over and over again. - Well said. Andrewa (talk) 04:35, 21 September 2023 (UTC)

- Oppose for the same reason as List of leaders of Georgia (country) its clear that the years can apply to both Georgias per WP:SHORTFORM. Crouch, Swale (talk) 21:27, 4 September 2023 (UTC)
- List of leaders of Georgia currently redirects to List of leaders of Georgia (country) following a mess of moves and edits. This should be changed too. Two wrongs do not make a right. Andrewa (talk) 21:43, 12 September 2023 (UTC)
- Yes it should as I said at that RM. Crouch, Swale (talk) 21:48, 12 September 2023 (UTC)
- Yes, see Talk:List of leaders of Georgia (country)#Requested move 11 July 2023 which has been reopened following move review. Perhaps I should clarify... I think we should remove the unnecessary disambiguation there too. But you don't as you argue that it's quite obvious that leader and governor is the same thing (which is not even generally true IMO let alone obvious). Is that correct? - Oppose per both of the above -- 67.70.25.175 (talk) 05:55, 5 September 2023 (UTC)
- Oppose per Mdewman6.–MinisterOfReligion (Talk) 18:36, 5 September 2023 (UTC)
- @MinisterOfReligion: You oppose the moves per my nomination and comment? Please clarify. Mdewman6 (talk) 17:47, 14 September 2023 (UTC)
- Oh, apparently that's not really your user name. Mdewman6 (talk) 17:49, 14 September 2023 (UTC)

- Oppose per those above. It is absolutely conceivable that we could have articles describing events by year in the U.S. state of Georgia, which is a large and eventful state. BD2412 T 00:24, 6 September 2023 (UTC)
- Oppose per other other editors and snow close. Killuminator (talk) 05:38, 6 September 2023 (UTC)
- Support until things change, per WP:CONCISE Red Slash 21:43, 6 September 2023 (UTC)
- Support. We are never likely to have such articles for the other Georgia, any more than it would make sense to have an article on its "leaders" (see above)... We have List of governors of Georgia and do not need to disambiguate that either. Disambiguate if and when we need to. Andrewa (talk) 21:48, 12 September 2023 (UTC)

- Oppose per WP:PRECISE; in this case, it's best to keep it consistent (Crouch, Swale). However, might want to redirect the pages until we create articles about the state. ~~2NumForIce (speak|edits) 03:53, 14 September 2023 (UTC)
