editJimmy put out a song (recitation) about ten years ago I think was titled "Letter to Santa" where a little boy wrote a letter to Santa to give all of his gifts to a less fortunate boy he knew. I work for Little Jimmy Dickens and he asked me to find the writer of this recitation. I would appreciate any help I can get from this post.

Bryants
editCould a Dickens expert please add to the songlist at Felice and Boudleaux Bryant? --Design 09:04, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
I agree that this is a poorly written and not too informative entry. What was his impact on country music? Why was he inducted into the Hall of Fame? What was his best-selling album? What about him made the world want to go to his shows? I approached this entry not knowing a lot about the man other than a few songs (which I was not that impressed with). Needless to say, this entry has not changed my opinion.
Relations
editI am actually somewhat related to Jimmy Dickens. My grandmother's sister is married to Jimmy's cousin. Skosem 16:35, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

Tom Duff 17:14, 24 October 2006 (UTC) Can anyone tell me how many,if any, children Jimmy has either in marriage or out? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pitriverman (talk • contribs) 18:53, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
Birthday
editimdb.com lists his birth year as 1925. Matthew Meta 07:05, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
- The Country Music Hall of Fame lists it as 1920. In my opinion, the Hall of Fame is more reliable than IMDB. Adam McMaster 08:49, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
I remember Little Jimmy Dickens and Little Brenda Lee appearing on The Orange Blossom Special tv shou out of Augusta, Ga. I don/t remember the year but around 1951 or 1952. Am I the only one that remembers this??? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.149.43.33 (talk) 01:36, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

WILL TIE RECORD WITH HERMAN CROOK 1925-1988
editIt is my understanding from the information that I can find, that Herman Crook holds the record for being on the Grand Ole Opry longer than anyone - 63 years (It is possible that Lewis Crook broke the record as he first played in the late 20's on the Opry, and I know he was still playing in december of 1989 when I saw him, and died in 1997. Next year Jimmy will tie this record (1948- ) Unless Lewis broke 63 years but I am not finding it. Of course he already holds the record of being a "member" on the Opry longer than anyone (1950- . I think part of this should be added to his biography in 2011. (PershingBoy)205.204.248.86 (talk) 19:56, 3 December 2010 (UTC)
Related to Charles Dickens
editIs there any documentation that supports the claim to the relationship to Charles Dickens? If not the claim should be removed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 154.5.32.113 (talk) 07:15, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
Agreed. At the very least it should be explained exactly what relationship he purports to have.CulturalSnow (talk) 06:37, 4 December 2011 (UTC)

Ambiguous Antecendent
editIn this sentence "Later, telling Dickens he needed a hit, Williams wrote "Hey Good Lookin'" in only 20 minutes while on a plane with Dickens, Minnie Pearl, and Pearl's husband, Henry Cannon.[5]"
the reader cannot tell whether "he" (third word) refers to Dickens or Williams.
Most of the sentence above is not supported by the citation [5]. --There's no support for "...telling Dickens he needed a hit..." --The citation does not support "on a plane with Dickens, Minnie Pearl, and Pearl's husband, Henry Cannon." either. It suggests that Williams, Dickens, and Minnie Pearl flew on a plane owned by Pearl's husband Henry Cannon, but does not state that Cannon was aboard.
Here is the cited work: "Dickens remembered flying with Hank and Minnie Pearl in her husband Henry Cannon's plane. [1]
