Isn't the skin the largest organ? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.226.152.114 (talk) 22:39, 16 September 2009 (UTC) .the skin is not an organ per se,as it is part of the epithelium.however,it is somewhat like an organ in some respects.169.244.148.235 (talk) 15:56, 4 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Image of tumour at top of article - too graphic?

edit

Does anyone else think this image could be upsetting for people who are affected by liver cancer (patients or their relatives or friends)? I think perhaps a scan would be more appropriate. PeachNellba (talk) 13:17, 15 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

No I think it is fine. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 07:04, 19 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

I agree it is too graphic for this public information resource. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Javamusic (talkcontribs) 18:44, 20 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Table at the Bottom of the Article

edit

Much of what appears in the table is nonobvious and unexplained. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.136.184.172 (talk) 16:12, 8 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

B class

edit

I have expanded this article quite a bit over the last few days. It is in the list of top-rated articles that is sub-B class so I am trying to get it to that standard. I have added to most sections, removing bullet point lists and added lots of better references. Does anyone have any ideas of what else is needed to get this up to B-class? Hello Wikipedia editing community! I have made many edits to the liver cancer and also the liver tumor page. I have noticed consider overlap between these 2 pages and wanted to hear thoughts on consolidating to one page? I tried to add context and simplify text and would appreciate feedback on editing to make better as well. Will also post on the liver tumor page this comment as well! Thank you! For the epidemiology section: edits made to give more global focus - especially on highly prevalent areas across the globe. Should the paragraph on epidemiology in USA be kept or deleted? thoughts? Thanks! Medicalcomm (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 02:24, 26 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

notable cases

edit

I removed Robin Gibb from the list in this article.

Robin Gibb died of colon cancer, that had spread to his liver. He did not die of primary liver cancer but of colon cancer and metastases of colon cancer in his liver. He said: "... then I was diagnosed with colon cancer, which spread to the liver." according to the Wikipedia article about him.

Besides that David Bowie probably died of pancreatic cancer that (as typical for this disease) had spread metastases to his liver. This article gives a hint about that: https://www.thesun.co.uk/archives/news/101071/golden-tears-david-bowie-had-six-heart-attacks-before-his-death-but-kept-cancer-secret-from-everyone-but-closest-pals/ I did not remove David Bowie from the list in this article, as I have no profound information. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.129.103.122 (talkcontribs) 09:05, 1 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

prognosis

edit

Should there be a prognosis section? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.135.100.115 (talk) 19:55, 17 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

@Medicalcomm, thanks for your bold edits to this article today. Could you please consider this old request for a ==Prognosis== section while you're working on this article? It's a very important topic for readers. WhatamIdoing (talk) 17:45, 25 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
@[[User:WhatamIdoing|WhatamIdoing)), I agree that prognosis is important. However, because this is an overview page maybe it makes more sense for readers to see the individual pages for each liver cancer subtypes for prognosis (e.g. HCC vs. cholangio page). What are your thoughts on this? Medicalcomm (talk)
