5th Lord should be 4th?
editThe article as it is now shown has the Livingston family of NY descending from Alexander Livingston, 5th Lord. Per the pedigree chart on p.6 of "The Livingstons of Livingston Manor", by Edwin Livingston, the NY Livingstons are descended from the 4th Lord Livingston as follows:
William, 4th Lord Livingston m. Agnes Hepburn (daughter of Alexander Hepburn of Whitsome)
James Livingston (d. 1547 at Pinkie) (wife not given)
Alexander Livingston, rector of Monyabroch (d. 1598) m. Barbara Livingston (of the Kilsyth Livingstons)
William Livingston, rector of Monyabroch (b. 1576, d. 1641) m. Agnes Livingston (of the Dunipace Livingstons)
John Livingston, rector of Ancrum (b. 1603, d. 1672) m. Janet Fleming, daughter of Bartholomew Fleming, merchant of Edinburgh
Robert Livingston the Elder
This book references the autobiography of Rev. John Livingston of Ancrum in confirmation of the genealogy above. This information also is reflected in Gary Boyd Roberts' "Royal Descents of 600 Immigrants". The two rectors of Monyabroch both married Livingston women, but neither of them were descended from the 5th Lord either. PohranicniStraze (talk) 17:08, 15 September 2010 (UTC)
