H2SO4 = Sulphuric/Sulfuric Acid

edit

I have no idea how to write the correct syntax to change that link, but it should be a link to Sulphuric acid, not a link to hydrogen and a link to sulphate. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.159.188.26 (talk) 10:45, 10 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

The article should include the use of lixiviants in mining uranium

edit

I have no expertise in this field, but I looked up "lixiviant" after reading the word in a novel by Eleanor Catton: Birnam Wood: A Novel (p. 80). McClelland & Stewart. Kindle Edition.

A Google search led me to this Wikipedia page and to a US NRC webpage [1] explaining that oxygen and/or hydrogen peroxide mixed with sodium carbonate or carbon dioxide serve as a lixiviant for extracting uranium. Given the importance of uranium (especially for nuclear weapons), this usage seems important enough to include in the article.

I hope that someone more knowledgeable about lixiviants in general, and specifically about using it for uranium extraction, will be able to improve this article. Ksbooth (talk) 04:44, 6 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
