In the quote taken from "The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland" is Llanberris a typo or an old spelling of Llanberis?

It is an old Anglicized spelling - it was quite common at one time to double up on consonants, such as "Bettws" (with 2 T's) or Carregog (2 R's) where the modern spelling has the correct single consonant. Hogyn Lleol (talk) 09:47, 23 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
