2006 vs 2000 census
edit"The 2006 census" is mentioned as if the whole world (or all of the USA) knows what this means. "The 2000 census" or any other federal census at the beginning of each new decade needs no further introduction because it is obviously the census mandated in the federal constitution, but any other off-cycle census needs a bit of introduction, such as its title (The Blah-blah Special Census) or who conducted it (federal Census Bureau?) and the reason for the extra census or a reference/URL link to further information. —optikos (talk) 05:55, 22 January 2010 (UTC)
James Renick-Logan
editThe sentences about James Renick-Logan in this Logansport, Indiana article are uncited. But I researched the matter and overhauled the Captain Logan article, which mis-attributes him as "Johnny Logan" instead of the correct "James Renick/Logan". Whoever 69.245.140.195 at 8:51pm 11 February 2009 was, they contributed the perfectly-correct edit regarding James Renick-Logan, firstly: Good job! You got Captain Logan more correct in this article that mentions him in passing than his own article did! Secondly, from what source did you obtain this information, both A) about his correctly-named identity as well (addressed to you 69.245.140.195) as B) how it is that we know that the city of Logansport is named after him instead of ☺ some other Logan dude ☺ in history (addressed to you User:Cuppysfriend who put in the edit attributing Logansport's name to Captain Logan at 5:57pm on 13 March 2006). (By the way Cuppysfriend, you combined bits & pieces of Captain Logan with his father, Chief Joshua of the Miami, who was kidnapped & held captive by the Shawnee during his/Joshua's childhood, whereas Captain Logan was raised in a Miami tribe, but other than that, Good Job! Every little bit of evidence & help counts.) I ask this 1) because we need to start citing solid references to address that annoying { { refimprove } } tag and 2) because over in the Captain Logan article the keepers of the James-Renick true facts will almost certainly face a series of challenges from the keepers of the Johnny-Logan purported "facts". Unfortunately, during 2008 Wapakoneta, Ohio chiseled "Johnny Logan" into a new tombstone, so they might not take too kindly to facts that reveal their rather-permanent mistake. —optikos (talk) 20:56, 1 February 2010 (UTC)
Orphaned references in Logansport, Indiana
editI check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Logansport, Indiana's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT⚡ 23:26, 21 October 2013 (UTC)
