PRT

edit

Hello! Lt. Severns from the Gardez Provincial Reconstruction Team here. As communications director for the PRT I have access to on-the-ground info from Paktia and Logar provinces. As a Wikipedian, I'll be adopting these two entries to flesh out with more details and pictures.

If there are any other entries relating to southeast Afghanistan that require info or pictures, I'll be happy to try and get it. Please let me know and I'll see what I can do. Severnjc 09:23, 30 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

districts

edit

info on district-map is not consistent with info under =districts= . Aleichem (talk) 08:07, 15 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

The map is a bit out of date, I have addressed that a little, but a newer map is needed. It would also be good to have a little more info in this section (i.e. more text to accompany the table and picture as the section seems a little bare without this). Move

edit

I moved this from Lowgar Province to Logar Province as this is by far the most widely used spelling. Lowgar Logar. RMHED (talk) 01:46, 20 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Please if you have reliable source, then you edit or try to change the demography information. Otherwise do not vandalize and delete information. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Muxlim (talkcontribs) 17:43, 16 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Reverted edits by IP

Reverted edits made by IP 94.219.198.90. MRRD was used as a source to back the claims. I also added USAID which clearly states that the predominant population of the province is Pashtun. Also used Institute for the Study of War as a source, which supports the 60% estimate for Pashtuns and 40% for Tajiks and Hazaras (Persian speakers). "About 60 percent of Logar’s 350,000 residents are Pashtun; Tajiks and Hazaras form the remainder of the population." [1]. As you can see, there is a semi-column after Pashtun not a comma. USAID writes "Logar Province, located 100 kilometers south of Kabul, is a Pashtun area periodically crossed by nomadic tribes." [2]. Here is one other source "The population is predominant Pashtun, but there are some Tajiks in the region of Kashmir." [3]. Read the sources carefully next time.
