Butt - is it accurate?
editI'm fairly certain that this station did not open in June 1841. MacDermott lists all the stations opened at that time but does not include Ashton. I wonder where Butt got this date? Geof Sheppard (talk) 16:29, 1 May 2012 (UTC)
- See discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject UK Railways#Long Ashton railway station. Long Ashton is not the same station as any of the several named simply Ashton. For Long Ashton, Butt records that it was opened as Long Ashton Platform 12 July 1926, renamed Long Ashton 23 September 1929, closed 6 October 1941. --Redrose64 (talk) 19:08, 1 May 2012 (UTC)

- Comments
- It is always a good idea to mention what country you are writing about. (fixed)
- Year ranges and punctuation uses endash (–) not a hyphen (-). (fixed)
- Avoid not spelling of "member of parliament" as non-Commonwealth readers may not understand the meaning of the abbreviation. (fixed)
- The MOS has strict use of what can be in italics, and names of stations, including old names, is not covered. (fixed)
- The lead is rather short, even given the article's length. It would recommend that it be slightly longer by including the alternative opening dates and include the alternative names used by the station at various times. Perhaps also mention the construction cost of the second station.
- Lengthened. -mattbuck (Talk) 20:56, 1 September 2012 (UTC)
- I would not recommend using external links to link to authors. If they are notable internal links can be used, even if they are red.
Otherwise the article looks fine. Placing on hold.Arsenikk (talk) 20:09, 1 September 2012 (UTC)
