Requested move

The result of the proposal was moved to Loomis station. Jafeluv (talk) 19:56, 26 May 2009 (UTC) Suggest renaming this article to Loomis, Washington (Pacific County) because of a conflict with the Okanogan County place of the same name. As of now the link in the article Okanogan County points to this article, which is incorrect. As this article about the ghost town in Pacific County and refers to a historical place name, the existing community should get the un-adorned Loomis, Washington title. -- Brianhe (talk) 14:41, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
- Support Alternative. The proposal doesn't meet the guidelines at WP:NCGN#United States; there is also no article currently on Wikipedia about Loomis, Okanogan County, so no current naming conflict. However, this article is not about a town at all but rather about a defunct railroad station. According to the article's only reference[1], as well as Ilwaco Railway and Navigation Company and Template:Ilwaco Navigation Company, a better title for this article is "Loomis station" (lower case "s" based on the ref). I propose a move to that. Station1 (talk) 06:30, 17 May 2009 (UTC)
- Preposterous! How would you feel if I suggested moving the article to "Loomis jafeluv"? On a more serious note, though, I agree that the suggested disambiguation is not needed. The source of the article uses "Loomis station", so that's what this article should be called. That is, unless someone can prove that there's a more common name for this station. Moving this to Loomis station also allows the creation of Loomis, Washington (either county) as a town article. Until the creation of those, Loomis, Washington could be a redirect to Loomis station. Jafeluv (talk) 09:39, 17 May 2009 (UTC)
- Agree I agree with the proposed alternative Loomis station. However doing a redir of Loomis, Washington would leave Okanogan County with a link to the wrong article. -- Brianhe (talk) 18:34, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
- Fixed See this edit. Jafeluv (talk) 18:45, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
- Oppose that's a weird name. It should be : Loomis, Pacific County, Washington 76.66.202.139 (talk) 05:25, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
