Talk:Loophole

Curious. "Some examples of when legal loopholes have been used are: [example of a loophole which was not used]"

Vandalism

edit

This line:

Usually these gay but perverted lawyers want us to not find holes so they can fuc them

It has some merit, but it's overly vulgar, and I don't know enough about the subject to say whether it's true or false, and whichever it is, I'm not qualified to ameliorate it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Fallenangei (talkcontribs) 00:40, 24 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Suggestion

edit

It may be worth to link this article to a currently discussed loophole that already has a related article on wikipedia, like gun show loophole for instance —Preceding unsigned comment added by 116.14.5.117 (talk) 15:19, 4 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Looks like this is done now, this is the "See also" section, including the gun show loophole article:

CopyLeft?

edit

How is CopyLeft related to Loopholes? CopyLeft is just a method of keeping a software "libre" while putting obstacles before anyone trying to claim exclusive rights for that software. It uses the copyright to achieve this, but is in no way trying to violate or walk around copyright. Rursus dixit. (mbork3!) 13:33, 22 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Huh?

edit

"However, the Nunica Internet Social Alliance was founded as a method to exploit a loophole in YouTube's song blocking by making promo videos for freely downloadable MP3 albums from Nisa Records which contain the blocked music, but without the blocked music in the promo videos, in which the albums can be found on underground file hosting sites."

That may make sense if you already know what it is talking about. I think I get it after reading it four times but I think one should be able get it on the first reading. 67.81.216.61 (talk) 14:58, 13 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

      • In my opinion, lacuna is the same as loophole. It has slighly diffrent linguistic usage but it not amount only to an intra legem gap. It emraces all possible kinds of legal gaps: extra, intra, contra legem and others.

See Definition of lacuna from merriam-webster.com plural lacunae play \lə-ˈkyü-(ˌ)nē, -ˈkü-ˌnī\ also lacunas play \lə-ˈkü-nəz, -ˈkyü-\ 1 : a blank space or a missing part : gap

the evident lacunae in his story —Shirley Hazzard

also : deficiency 1

despite all these lacunae, those reforms were a vast improvement —New Republic

2 : a small cavity, pit, or discontinuity in an anatomical structure — lacunar play \lə-ˈkü-nər, -ˈkyü-\ or less commonly lacunate play \lə-ˈkü-nət, -ˈkyü-, -ˌnāt; ˈla-kyə-ˌnāt\ adjective
