"Catalan" Names

edit

The names on the Catalan Wikipedia ("Pero", "Ferrando", "Alvar", "Joan") are the Aragonese names using the SLA norm, as their Wikipedia has a tendency to use local names for persons/places/things outside the Catalan Countries. Traditionally these forenames are Pere, Ferran, Àlvar, Joan in Catalan.

The -ez patronymics sometimes have their own Catalan version, ending in -is (or, rarely, -es). From Spanish to Catalan these are:

Thus we have this list of names:

  • Pere Ruis d'Açagra
  • Ferran Ruis d'Açagra
  • Pere Ferrandis d'Açagra
  • Àlvar Peris d'Açagra
  • Joan I Nunyes de Lara
  • Joan II Nunyes de Lara
