Lost Girl Twitter and Facebook page are NOT Syfy accounts

edit

Some editors are not aware that @lostgirlseries Twitter (established August 2010) and Lost Girl TV Show Facebook (started September 2010) were created by Prodigy Pictures and/or Showcase, and announcements made through these two mediums are announcements made by either Prodigy Pictures or Showcase. They are not announcements made directly by Syfy. Both "@lostgirlseries" and "Lost Girl TV Show" page are actively involved in the promotion of Lost Girl on Syfy – but they are not announcements made by Syfy. This distinction is necessary because some uninformed editors confuse facts about Lost Girl/Canada as facts about Lost Girl/United States, and have changed existing, correct information in articles because of it. Most recent example: after the broadcast of the mid-season finale (End of Faes) on June 4, 2015, Syfy announced in a preview of the second half of the season that Lost Girl returns in 2016. On June 23, Lost Girl Series through its @lostgirlseries account confirmed that Lost Girl returns on September 6 for Canadians, and in 2016 for the U.S. – but this does not change the fact that Syfy made its announcement on June 4 in a preview. Lost Girl (season 5b) or Lost Girl (season 6)

edit

I think we should consider splitting after the first 8 episodes. Regarding "44 Minutes to Save the World" I realize that Showcase's website does continue season 5's numbering and calls it episode 9: http://www.showcase.ca/lostgirl/lostgirlepisodes.aspx?s=Season+5B&e=Episode+9:+44+Minutes+to+Save+the+World

However it does clearly have a "5B" heading. Plus distributors of the show for Showcase are calling 5B Season 6. You can see this at https://web.archive.org/web/20160109210109/http://www.rogersondemand.com/OnDemand/Show/lost_girl?lang=en

I view it via Bell and see the same thing via Showcase on Demand, it shows season 6 episodes 1-8 on the list. I've only watched the first 3 seasons (waiting for showcase to re-air from "In Memoriam" the season 4 debut) and it's confusing trying to remember if I have 2 or 3 seasons left to watch. 174.92.134.246 (talk) 16:18, 17 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

The most accurate content in a television series article is information provided by the actual creators/producers of the series. Prodigy Pictures and Showcase referred to the 16 episodes of Season 5 as first-half (Part 1) and second-half (Part 2).

  • "the first half of Lost Girl’s epic final season continues in January with new episodes, including the mid-season finale on Sunday, January 25, at 9pm ET/PT. Sexy succubus Bo’s story will wrap up later in 2015 when the second half of Lost Girl season five returns."

If you can find a Showcase or Shaw Media citation where it refers to Season 5 Part 1 as "5A" and Part 2 as "5B", then it's a legitimate source that would support adding an "A" and "B" heading (you need both -- you can't have a "B" without an "A").
Regardless of what third-party distributors (Rogers, etc., DVD/Blu-ray marketing) call the second half of the season, it is not "Season 6". Pyxis Solitary (talk) 01:26, 19 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
I agree that distributor takes priority, but it's still at least worth a note about season 6, a lot of people are going to see that information and get confused, a note will clear it up. Showcase.ca cable distributors (Bell and Rogers) both do this, and they're the primary distributors in the country of origin, definitely a good thing to mention for its broadcast. 184.145.18.178 (talk) 18:40, 24 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
"I agree that distributor takes priority...."
Who are you responding to? It can't be to what I wrote because I specifically stated that distributors of Lost Girl are third parties. Distributors did not have any involvement in the production of the series, nor that it was going to have a last season expanded to 16 episodes, and that Showcase was going to broadcast it as two parts. The information about Season 5 states:
"original 13-episode order increased to 16 final episodes and the season divided into Part 1 and Part 2."
There is no Season 6. No matter what Bell, Rogers, any other cable service, or the North American DVD/Blu-ray distributor called it: there is no Season 6. (BTW, the DVD title in Region 2 (UK) is "Lost Girl: The Complete Final Season"; and for Region 4 (Australia) it's "Lost Girl: The Complete Fifth Season".) I don't know how familiar you are with Wikipedia editing policies, but facts and statements are supported with reliable, published sources. Read: Wikipedia:No original research. Season 5's Part 2 cannot be amended as "Season 6" just because some people might have difficulties with reading comprehension. Pyxis Solitary (talk) 09:25, 25 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

68 and 69

edit

Showcase has been reairing this daily at 6am and I just got a spoilerload because it skilled right from the football ep to 44 minutes. Has this happened before? Are they unable to televise those two episodes for some legal reason or is it some kinda glitch? Ranze (talk) 07:16, 25 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

Lost Girl had a total of 77 episodes. The overall episode numbers that correspond to Season 5 are #62 through #77.
#68 (episode 5.07) is "Here Comes the Night". #69 (episode 5.08) is "End of Faes". #70 (episode 5.09) is "44 Minutes to Save the World".
See: List of Lost Girl episodes#Season 5_.282014.E2.80.9315.29
If there's a glitch in the scheduling of the reruns you should ask, or report it to, Showcase customer service. Pyxis Solitary (talk) 22:00, 25 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
