Number of pilots with German, Italian and Japanese 'kills'
editI have found resources which say that there were a large group of pilots with German, Italian and Japanese 'kills' during the second world war. The article said Curdes was one of three. One of three American? Londonclanger (talk) 19:40, 11 December 2017 (UTC)
SERE Training
editThe mention of him not receiving SERE training is superfluous as the program to provide that training did not come into existence until the end of WW2. 50.208.187.114 (talk) 11:33, 13 October 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you for posting to the talk page first. From what little reading I have done on this subject, apparently there were some SERE programs in existence in the US at the time of WW2. However not all pilots received this training. I do think it is worth mentioning in the article because Curdes was asked if he had received any survival training in this interview: [1] (page 13). If you still think it is unnecessary to have that line in the article, then maybe we can add that line to the notes section? Or maybe add that there were SERE programs in existence at the time, but not all pilots received this training? 50.37.92.170 (talk) 02:14, 25 October 2023 (UTC)
