Son
editIt seems very likely that Albéric Vaillant, general of the Foreign Legion, was his son. See [2] and [3] which together give him father Louis Vaillant who was an army doctor. The first ref has the name of his mother. Charles Matthews (talk) 12:14, 27 October 2012 (UTC)
- More circumstantial evidence - Louis's elder brother Alberic died on the battlefield in August 1914, six months before General Alberic was born in February 1915. Opbeith (talk) 20:31, 27 October 2012 (UTC)
Indeed. Charles Matthews (talk) 16:39, 29 October 2012 (UTC)
By the way, various Google Books snippets describe Vaillant as an "ami d'enfance" of Pelliot. Charles Matthews (talk) 08:30, 1 November 2012 (UTC)
