Louisiana Pine Snake
editIs this snake also called a ( colloquially ) Chicken Snake ? 2600:1700:4760:6450:7D21:EB82:6B5D:3319 (talk) 18:17, 8 November 2022 (UTC)
- The name chicken snake is usually in reference to ratsnakes of the genus Pantherophis, most often species like the eastern ratsnake or black ratsnake (Pantherophis alleghaniensis), western or Texas ratsnake (Pantherophis obsoletus), and the Gray Ratsnake (Pantherophis spiloides). Article issues
editI placed maintenance tags, 1)- because they were needed and 2)- so others or myself can work on the article when possible. The lead is very short, there needs to be more referencing with inline sources, and the appendices are not meant to hold sources indefinitely. The "Additional on-line resources" can be used in the article. -- Otr500 (talk) 00:10, 25 August 2023 (UTC)
- Removed "Note" from "References" section:
[NOTE: Unless otherwise stated, the principal source of material presented here was: U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service: Louisiana pine snake (cited above). That work was summarized from an extensive literature review presented in: Candidate Conservation Agreement for the Louisiana pine snake (cited above). Users desiring more detailed, referenced material should consult the literature review.]
- It is not a normal practice to suggest sending readers outside of Wikipedia. The references section is used to support material in the article. See: Wikipedia:Citing sources. Some, or most, of the links in the "Further reading" section could be used as citations supporting article expansion. -- Otr500 (talk) 21:42, 18 September 2023 (UTC)
