First Artificial Vacuum?
editSurely von Guericke was preceded by Evangelista Torricelli in 1643? While Torricelli did not invent a pump, he did demonstrate production of a vacuum. Was von Guericke aware of Torricelli's work? If not, what inspired him to build and demonstrate his pump? Moletrouser (talk) 14:37, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
No mention of Tesla
edit"Method of increasing the intensity of electrical oscillations" circa 1906.
