To my understanding, Lucas Valley is an unincorporated part of Marin County. San Rafael (more specifically, Terra Linda across the hills accessed locally through Las Gallinas road or else HWY 101) is the closest incorporated part of the county, and an address in Lucas Valley would often bear the name of San Rafael, but I'm not sure that Lucas Valley is officially part of San Rafael.
Proposed merger
editI propose merging Lucas Valley, California into this article. The topics are closely related (this article is about a valley whereas the other is about a census-designated place in the valley), and the other article is very short—its information can easily be covered within this article. —Mr. Granger (talk · contribs) 04:48, 5 August 2014 (UTC)
- Merger completed. —Mr. Granger (talk · contribs) 18:24, 19 August 2014 (UTC)
- I wish you hadn't done this. The subdivision/CDP is not located in the valley. Oh well!--Stepheng3 (talk) 06:08, 25 August 2014 (UTC)
