editThank you for this article about Frank, who was one of the most important social democrats before 1914. I improved the German Wikipedia article and know the subject matter well.
It is wrong to say that Germany inherited the three-class franchise from Prussia. The elections to the Reichstag were not conducted on the basis of class suffrage, but on the basis of one man, one vote (women did not have the right to vote until 1918). Prussia, on the other hand, remained a huge federal state with three-class suffrage for the Prussian parliament. The situation was similar in other federal states. The electoral system in the Reich, on the other hand, was seen as progress.
I improve the article at this point. Atomiccocktail (talk) 14:47, 11 June 2021 (UTC)
- Noted. Many thanks. And many thanks for the work you did creating the German article.
- I was taught a paper on German history for a term (ten weeks plus a little bit of vacation reading) at university, and I think the eminent and entertaining scholar teaching us had strong opinions on the Dreiklassenwahlrecht. But it was a long time ago, and if he ever explained that it was used only in (many) Landtag elections and NEVER used in elections to the Reichstag, then I wasn't listening or I forgot. Mea culpa either way. And thank you again.
