General comment
editThis article shows that the authors have not studied the subject. Lughaya is not a town but a large village at best, as satellite pictures in Google.maps or Bing.com/maps easily reveal. The district (which consists mostly of empty desert and plains) has 36.000 inhabitants (according to ref) of which 14.000 are urban. Are these living in 30-or so "major towns"? Of course not. These maps: here and here show that there are very few populated places in this district; in fact, not more than a handful, and all of them are tiny villages. the most important ones are Karuure, Gerisa, Kalawle, Farda Lagu-Xidh and Lughaya itself. After exploring the entire district carefully, mile by mile, on high resolution aerial imagery, I am sure that any remaining population centre can be no more than a handful of huts. Most of the 30-or-so "major towns" listed in the article do either not exist, or are other features (like wadis, wells, and so on), or are outside the district. Finally, despite the ref. saying that Lughaya has a small seaport: it doesn't. There's not even a jetty, nothing. Just a beach. Little boats are simply pulled ashore. The article should be correspondingly changed. Loranchet (talk) 22:20, 22 December 2013 (UTC)
I noticed that the distance between lughaya and djibouti city is wrong .The actual distance between djibouti and lughaya is almost 120 kilometers.U can calculate with a distance calculator which u can find on the internet .the general comment situated here above is right about the towns .Lughaya is a large village ,all small villages located in the district are actually scarcely populated .But there is a jetty in lughaya ,not a seaport .it is rather a fishingport . — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hasan Maris Jama (talk • contribs) 11:58, 7 November 2014 (UTC)

- I agree, the vandalism on this page is ridiculous, it must be protected. Valid sources on this page are being removed due to the constant vandalism, users do not stop when challenged on their false edits. The Aqoon One 03:48, 26 January 2018 (UTC)

New request
editThere have been repeated attempts at vandalism on this page. We have time and again provided references supporting that the majority inhabitants of this territory are the Gadabuursi. This page deserves protection.

- Mustafa, I see no evidence of any vandalism on the page. Please, do not change the infobox to display the Somalia flag, when this location is currently controlled by the de facto state Somaliland for at least the past 25 years. See States with limited recognition for a comprehensive list of similar situations elsewhere in the world. The encyclopedia reflects the actual situation on the ground in these places.
