'Lumbar Nerve Anatomy' The lumbar column is made up of five vertebra and individual discs. Vertebra are bones that form the backbone. The lumbar vertebral is shaped like a kidney. It is also large. The lumbar spine consists of five movable levels. They are numbered from L1-L5. A simple way to remember which region the Lumbar nerves are located, is by the “L” in lumber, which can also stand for lower, which is the location of the lumbar nerves, the lower back. The sacrum is made up of five fused levels S1-S5, which then leads to the coccyx at the bottom. This collectively is is what makes up the lumbosacral, hence the names, “lumbo” and “sacral.” Beneath each lumbar and sacral bone, there are a pair of foramina (holes) that us the same numbering system. The L1 foramina are below theL1 vertebral body. All lumbar and sacral spinal nerve roots start at the T10 to L1 vertebral levels. Sometimes this area of the back can suffer chronic pain or disease infection Lumbosacral Radiculopathy is description of pains and treatments that affects one or more lumbosacral nerves. Ultrasound guided injections in the lumbar region of the spine help cure these problems. These are therapies or radiculopathy therapies used to treat lower back pain. These are usually performed with the help of CT scans. An alternate approach for Lumbar epidural steroid injections.

Proposed merge with Spinal nerves

Needless fragmentation - would be better treated as a subtopic of Spinal nerves which on its own lacks much substance Iztwoz (talk) 08:15, 18 April 2014 (UTC)  Done

It is unnecessary to have five separate articles on the spinal nerves; they could easily be presented as a list. This has the additional benefit of helping readers by providing more context, and defragmenting needlessly separated articles. The articles could be reexpanded at some future date if necessary Tom (LT) (talk) 22:37, 2 November 2014 (UTC)

The page that was Lumbar nerves has been merged into Spinal nerve. Do you mean that these individual nerves be merged into a list or to Spinal nerves? Iztwoz (talk) 21:49, 11 November 2014 (UTC)

@Iztwoz merged to a list. I was thinking of moving (lumbar nerves, ...) to those headings, using their text as an introduction, and then merging the subarticles to create a list. I think that's the most viable way of retaining the information but presenting it in a readable format. --Tom (LT) (talk) 22:18, 11 November 2014 (UTC)

Suggestion to merge other nerves

I think it's better to merge:

C1-C8 into one article like "Cervical Nerves"

T1-T12 into one article like "Thoracic Nerves"

S1-S5 into one article like "Sacral Nerves"
