Talk:Lumos Networks

Not sure how I can properly say this with the template, but no, none of the edits made by the connected contributors were neutral, and had clear conflict of interest. Edits were partially reverted by me and others where necessary. JBMagination (talk) 13:59, 16 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

If the company is now known as Segra and is no longer called Lumos, why is this article still called Lumos? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Leavittdc (talkcontribs) 15:09, 7 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Merger proposal

edit

I propose merging North State Communications into Lumos Networks. They are both the same company; even with the conflicting edits of interest, Lumos/NorthState has acted under Lumos and mentioned that they are NorthState. This blog post showcases that they are the same brand. JBMagination (talk) 15:15, 24 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

I'd agree with that. Amospainter (talk) 17:15, 4 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
Strong Oppose They are not the same brand. North State is a telephone company. Lumos is the fiber optic company. All references to the fiber optic company should be removed from this article North State Communications except to say that NorthState is working with Lumos to provide fiber service.— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 17:02, 10 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, forgot whose talk page I was on.— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 22:53, 15 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
Okay, there was a confirmation today so I withdraw my opposition, as long as the full history of NorthState is included.— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 19:54, 16 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
I'm uncertain how to handle the founding date. This company is NorthState, which was founded in 1895.— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 21:15, 17 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
Rather than do a test, I decided to be bold. Is what I did satisfactory?— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 21:26, 17 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

SEGRA Rebranding

edit

The article mentions the rebranding of the combined company as SEGRA. Besides the citation in the article, I also found this on BusinessWire. I propose renaming (move) the article to reflect the new name. Then the article needs editing to reflect changes in leadership, etc..

Anyone wish to discuss here? — TadgStirkland401 (TadgTalk) 04:44, 8 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
