Reliable sources, necessity of Public Image and Endorsements section
editAs per edit history, contributor BrightsForever wants to include a section on Public image and Endorsements.
My justification for removing the sections include:
- Content included only includes star rankings from search engines rather than reliable media / news sources, and data rankings from Wechat. They are not commonly used as "evidence" for star power and public image, and given it is not a "must-have" section for Biographies of living persons, especially actors, the lack of reliable sources was the reason I deleted the section.
- Endorsements included expired endorsement contracts without a timeframe, and there are no reliable sources confirming when such contracts ended. Endorsements are also mostly for local Asian market brands that do not have Wikipedia pages.
Reliable source is split into primary, secondary and tertiary. A range of Chinese language news articles on Sina, Sohu and Netease are written by media after a drama / actor event has happened, and can be considered secondary. There are also cases when the information is based on primary sources (aka media persons present at the scene of a conference). However, English language bloggers such as the sources this contributor is quoting are fan bloggers, who write articles based on their interpretation of what has happened while also relying on Chinese language sources, hence cannot be considered a reliable source as per guidelines. Unnecessary deletion in Luo artist
editHi there, as mentioned previously, wikipedia is international page not limited to country specific and restricted to one author. If work of artists is defined by authorised source, news articles & reports it is acceptable. YouTube, FB, Twitter have limitations. Length of paragraphs does insignificant if the matter is justifiable and valid. Length of para does not signifies importance but strength of lines backed by citations does. Internationally popular artist have reports outside their domicile too. BrightsForever (talk) 17:29, 30 May 2023 (UTC)
Character names within quotes
editRefer authorised articles, with experience noted senior admin place character names of the series within quotes to provide differentiation. That is professional article writing. Removing provides inappropriate and informal tone BrightsForever (talk) 17:32, 30 May 2023 (UTC)
