Talk:Lusternik–Schnirelmann category

Latest comment: 3 years ago by Megaleoo in topic Definition

There seem to be two distinct pages with the identical title "Lyusternik-Schnirelmann category" (in addition to other similar pages, such as "Lusternik-Schnirelmann category", etc). Why is this necessary? Katzmik 07:39, 3 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Agreed. As it is now, one is induced to think that it is inconsistent with the definition in Ganea conjecture. Megaleoo (talk) 03:54, 13 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

I suppressed the term category since it can be confusing, see for instance Baire category of a space. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Xtquique (talkcontribs) 17:29, 3 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

About the lower bound for the number of critical points

edit

In the article is written that "It was, as originally defined for the case of X a manifold, the lower bound for the number of critical points that a real-valued function on X could possess". Shouldn't X be compact? Saung Tadashi (talk) 22:56, 6 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
