Deletion Proposal
editI've taken the liberty of removing the deletion template for the time being. The article clearly isn't up to snuff at the moment, but I think it may be possible to improve it. There are a few websites that have a bit of information on the LCS, but more importantly, it appears to be discussed in WELS and other Lutherans, and it may be included in Melton's Encyclopedia of American Religions. I'll try to take a look at those at some point in the near future.
Honestly, I think most of the American Lutheran microsynods don't necessarily need their own page, but I'm not sure how you'd combine them. A single page with brief descriptions of all the Lutheran denominations in the US would be a monstrosity, and I can't think of any way to split them up. If anyone has any ideas, I'd be very interested in hearing them. Bnng (talk) 22:59, 17 September 2019 (UTC)
- @Bnng: - do you know how much is in that source? I couldn't see how much. The other websites I saw all failed some ground or another to be a notability-providing one, so I felt the lack of multiple sources was enough, but it'd be great to know what it contained since it might point us elsewhere. If Melton's also has it then that would be great - let me know if you get a chance to see them.
- I had exactly the same view regarding merging - it seems such an obvious merge source, but a) it would still need a reference b) I feel merging lots of little denominations would be unpleasant and unwise, as you noted. Nosebagbear (talk) 13:30, 18 September 2019 (UTC)
- @Nosebagbear:, I don't know what's all in that source, but there's a library near me that has a copy, so I'm going to try to get there sometime next week to take a look. I'll take a look at Melton's sometime this week or next as well. Bnng (talk) 22:29, 18 September 2019 (UTC)
The former bishop of this church cited in the article is currently on the Illinois state records as a sexual predator and feel Wikipedia promoting this article is promoting something that we should not I ask it be deleted Johnhus1866 (talk) 01:24, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
