Source request
editThis article needs the sources from the newspapers at that time. The Crisis July 1917 has some snippets but not all. I don't know if they're available online; I haven't been able to find. In particular, the Tennessee Historical Quarterly article looks to be the most complete account but I've only been able to see snippet views. Without those, this article is stuck. - There are a couple of newspapers articles listed by Google, though you'd have to pay to see them. But sometimes it's possible to use the information to find the articles in other ways:
- "NEGRO BURNED BY TENNESSEE MOB", The Hartford Courant, May 23, 1917.
- "NEGRO IS BURNED AT SCENE OF CRIME", The Atlanta Constitution, May 23, 1917.
- There might be more details in Margaret Vandiver's Lethal Punishment. SlimVirgin talk|contribs 06:31, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks, I'll see what I can do. Christopher Connor (talk) 13:23, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
Misspelling
editIf the misspelling "drunkeness" is in the original, there should be a {{sic}} after it. If not, it should be corrected. —Angr (talk) 19:00, 13 November 2010 (UTC)
- It was spelt correctly in the newspaper report. I've fixed it. Thanks for spotting that. Christopher Connor (talk) 19:45, 13 November 2010 (UTC)
