Isn't the pH of cytoplasm 7.4 and not 7? This somewhat subtle difference is actually more important than one might think.

pH of the cytosol fluctuates depending on the function, life, etc. The point is cytosol is neutral (about 7.2) compared to the acidic pH (about 5)high of the lsyosome. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.18.171.6 (talk) 07:03, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

Plant cells do not have lysosomes. Do all eukaryotic cells but plants have lysosomes? Do plant vacuoles perform equivalent duties to lysosomes? If so, is that worth mentioning here? Jenks 13:17, 16 May 2005 (UTC)

You are right plant cells do not have lysosomes. I made a note of it in the article. --Kinglz 21:59, 8 Jun 2005 (UTC)

that is right plant cells do not have lysosomes. link title

Hi this is brianna what is the function of this stupid thing !! your making my homework that much harder! i am mad at u

Aww, wouldn't it be much easier if there was a Lysosome#Functions section you could plagiarize? :-) --David Iberri (talk) 04:51, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

Plant Cells -DO_HAVE- lysosomes, even though thay are found VERY rarly.

Plants do NOT have Lysosomes

Plants lysosomesDO NOT EXIST they are truely rarly found because a plant doesn't need lysosomes for the tasks it preforms. Plant lysosomes are only there for precaution, viruses do not infect plants, well they do but not the viruses that infect us. Lysosomes sometimes only destroy their own cells —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Saadzaman126 (talkcontribs) 01:03, 30 January 2007 (UTC).

yea guys i just need to understand how the lysosomes of white blood cells help in the process of getting rid of cells. My homework is getting kinda more complex, and i need to know about how they harm, viruses themselves and others.

If ya can help me think i want to help you. remember that lysosome are also called the 'suicide bag' and also invade a cell and help repair damage plasma membrane and can also engulfed viruses and bacterias . . so even plant need lysosome . they simple inject the white blood cell to engulfed virus to to prevent the virys or bacteria from entering into the cell through a pore .Lysosomes carry out intracellular digestion by fusing with a vacuole and releasing their enzymes into the vacuole , remember plant have temporal vacuole so plant to must have a lysosome

Well this is only my opinion but I think that the lysosomes in white blood cells inject the acidic enzymes into the engulfed virus and I believe this disintegrates the virus or bacteria. Probably white blood cells have a special area like a vacuole to execute this process so other cells aren't harmed. Your welcome

It would be great if someone could make this article more complex and explain in more detail how lysosomes are produced. Thanks Alex —Preceding unsigned comment added by Coladragon (talkcontribs) 18:24, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

How big is a lysosome? 75.61.103.176 (talk) 01:09, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

What is this for?

it digests the cells food.

What is this for?

I don't know what goes here:). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 165.24.252.180 (talk) 17:14, 17 December 2012 (UTC) It digests the cell's food.
