Review

edit

Hi there. I will review this article. I think this article is ripe for promotion already! Stay tuned. MX () 01:20, 13 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Background and recording

edit
  • About why he chose to record an album – I would rephrase to "As to why ..."

Release

edit
  • Its back cover originally featured a sepia-tinted Mexican flag, but the Mexican government asked – Perhaps you can consider linking Mexican flag for visuals, and linking the Mexican government.

Promotion

edit
  • at the Hyundai Pavilion in San Bernardino, California – link the city.
  • the highest-grossing tour by a Latin artist. – Just curious. Does the source refer Luis Miguel as a "Latin" artist? Latin for me means the Latin language. I've heard Latino (though it's mostly an American-coined term). Perhaps Latin America is more accurate? At this point, we also got to make sure we abide by the source, of course.
  • The tour's set list consisted of mariachi songs from México en la Piel, boleros and uptempo tracks from Miguel's previous albums – link boleros and uptempo if there's an equivalent article.

Singles

edit
  • Its music video was filmed in Amatitán, Jalisco and was directed by Pedro Torres – Link the location
  • The album's fourth single, "Échame a Mi la Culpa", reached number 18 on the Hot Latin Songs chart. – This is a tricky one, but I know for a fact "mi" in this scenario has an accent in the "í", per Spanish rules. I guess we have to technically go by the name of the single, even though it is misspelled. Would you mind double-checking to see if the official name has an accent? You used an accent twice in other mentions for the same phrase.
  • De Que Manera Te Olvido" – "Que" also has an accent in the "é". Saw this page here that uses it, but I'm not sure if it is reliable or if Luis Miguel officially has it with an accent.

Certifications

edit
  • and was certified quadruple platinum in the Latin – Just curious. Is there an article you can link so readers can know more about what these "gold" and "platinum" certifications mean? I personally have no idea.

Personnel

edit
  • I'm going to list the names of people that should have accent per Spanish-language rules. Just make sure to double check them in other sources to see if they are used. I saw you use them for some names for the Writer(s).
  • Fernando Martínez Arreguín (removed the "e" since it was misspelled from the source)
  • Víctor "El Pato" Cárdenas
  • Julio Hernández
  • Julio Martínez
  • Felipe Pérez
  • Juan Rodríguez
  • Tata Vega (this was misspelled; removed the "n")

Infobox

edit
  • Grandes Éxitos and its release year are mentioned in the infobox but not in the body paragraphs. Please fix per WP:INFOBOXCITE, preferrably by adding them in the body.
  • Same goes for the length of 39:39
  • Same goes for Mis Boleros Favoritos and its release date

Sources

edit
  • Everything checks out here. Sources are strong, no dead URLs, full formats, and no copyright violations.

Images

edit
  • All good here too. Uses appropriate tags and fair use.
  • @MX: Thanks for the review! I must admit it was interesting for me to do this article as I am not Mexican nor am I of Mexican heritage. I've pretty much addressed almost all the issues you brought up. As I do not have the physical copy of the album, I cannot verify the names that are mentioned in the personnel having accents or not, so I will take your word, same with some of the names. The book says "Latin artist", by which I presume they mean of being a Latin music performer as opposed to being Latinx, so I linked to "Latin" to Latin music to avoid any confusion. It is not standard to include the chronology of albums in the body of the article (no GA or FA articles about an album have these), so that's why it's not included in the body, same with the length. I should probably mention that the length in the infobox is from Allmusic so I'm sourcing that. Thanks again for the review! Erick (talk) 18:37, 13 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
Great! Everything else checks out. Passing this article. MX () 19:26, 13 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
