File:M.I Mama.jpg Nominated for speedy Deletion

edit
An image used in this article, File:M.I Mama.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
What should I do?
Speedy deletions at commons tend to take longer than they do on Wikipedia, so there is no rush to respond. If you feel the deletion can be contested then please do so (commons:COM:SPEEDY has further information). Otherwise consider finding a replacement image before deletion occurs.

Switching paragraphs

edit

I think we should switch between paragraph titles : Nigerian Music Industry & M.I's Contribution; M.I's success need not be confined to Nigerian music industry, neither does it seem he played a "special" role in creating/promoting it. 5.151.82.44 (talk) 16:50, 20 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Sections for rewriting

edit

The section M.I#Controversy is not only badly written and unencyclopaedic in phrasing, but is in fact peeled from this page:M.I vs Iceberg Slim word for word in areas, without attribution. This section may need to be rewritten somewhat. 41.58.31.250 (talk) 01:28, 26 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

PS I want to make it clear: the entire section is lifted (without attribution) from Wazobia FM. Bokoharamwatch (talk) 13:37, 17 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

The following have been ejected from the article per WP:ELNO. These may be reintegrated as citations as required. -- Ohc ¡digame! 07:03, 19 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Editing

edit

Please i would like to know why i have to wait for another editor to approve of my edits. is that a normal protocol? and if so why? Acquilawrites (talk) 23:33, 25 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

@Acquilawrites: Are you saying that you try editing the M.I article and someone told you to wait for an approval? I am confused here because the M.I article isn't protected. Welcome to Wikipedia Acquilawrites! From looking at your edit history and contributions, I can see that you're new here. I also see that the information you added about the Olamide/Don Jazzy feud was reverted. If you want clarification as to why it was reverted, I can explain things to you in-depth. Just so you know, articles that meet Wikipedia's speedy deletion criteria can be deleted instantly. If an article is deemed borderline, it can be deleted via the WP:PROD and WP:AFD routes. BTW, I like the minor copyedits you performed in the M.I article. Feel free to ask me any questions you may have about Wikipedia. I hope you learn the ropes of this encyclopedia and contribute to it successfully! Versace1608 (Talk) 00:25, 26 January 2016 (UTC)Reply
Thank you so much for that. i have a couple of questions to ask, but they'll have to wait till tomorrow. Thanks once again and God bless.Acquilawrites (talk) 00:48, 26 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

Standardize spelling

edit

There is no rationale given for the choice of MI vs M.I vs M.I. all of which appear in the article. Given that the initialism appears to be chosen mainly to leverage confusion by similarity to the Mission Impossible films, it would probably better to use his real name instead.LeadSongDog come howl! 16:52, 4 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

@LeadSongDog: We cannot use his real name because the artist's current stage name is M.I Abaga. He previously went by the stage name "M.I" and released his first two studio albums under said name. There aren't many sources referring to him as "M.I.".  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 17:08, 4 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
