Isn't gunboat USS Panay the first American vessel to be sunk in WW2, and not City of Rayville? Or, (this is a guess) perhaps City of Rayville is the first American MERCHANT vessel to be sunk in WW2? Something doesn't seem to jive here to me. -- C. Peter Chen 14:31 PDT, 2 Apr 2009
