- ... that the Michigan banner (pictured) survived an attack by uniformed men from Ohio during the Ten Year War? Source: The attack is discussed in "100 Things Michigan Fans Should Know & Do Before They Die", on national television here, and in the Columbus Dispatch here.

- Don't know if it's too far off in the future, but it would be fun if this could run during the daytime slot on November 26 -- the day of the annual Michigan–Ohio rivalry game. Cbl62 (talk) 21:12, 12 September 2022 (UTC)

Overall: I love the hook! It's a clever spin on things, but currently it's not completely supported by the article: First off, the hook implies that the attack was unsuccessful, while the article only mentions an "attempted to destroy". I would suggest to change that to unsuccessfully attempted to to destroy the banner
, or something similar. I'm likewise a little hesitant about "uniformed men", although it's pretty obvious that players appear in their uniforms. Would approve that if there is no objection from other editors.
As for the requested date, that does make a lot of sense to me, but per WP:SOHA it would be a somewhat longer wait than usually allowed. You would have to make a request at WT:DYK and petition for the November 26 slot. Again, it seems a reasonable request to me and I would personally support it, but I can't guarantee other editors agree. –LordPeterII (talk) 09:55, 13 September 2022 (UTC)
- @LordPeterII: Thank you for the review. The video clip (here) shows that the attack was unsuccessful, as the Michigan team was able to run under it shortly after the attack. Likewise, the uniforms of the attackers (i.e., football uniforms) is clearly shown in the video. Of course, this is a somewhat light-hearted take on the Michigan-Ohio rivalry, but entirely accurate. Hopefully, this can be approved. Thanks again. Cbl62 (talk) 04:46, 14 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Cbl62: Yes, I think it's clear enough that the attempt was unsuccessful. My issue was that this fact wasn't clearly presented in the article, but I have added a word there to clarify that. I will approve, but again, if you want this to run on November 26, you will need to make a request at WT:DYK and explain why. Otherwise, it will be run in an earlier queue.
- Approve the hook, somewhat quirky but that's what makes it fun. –LordPeterII (talk) 07:46, 14 September 2022 (UTC)
