... that Mabe Fratti's contemporary avant-garde music was inspired by composer György Ligeti? Post-promotion hook changes will be logged on the talk page; consider watching the nomination until the hook appears on the Main Page.Battleofalma (talk) 06:37, 13 April 2024 (UTC).
- There are currently two major issues with the article. The first is that it is only 695 characters long, far below the 1500 character requirement. The second is that the hook does not meet WP:DYKINT; the hook is unlikely to be perceived as interesting to those who lack background in the subject. If the reader does not know who Ligeti is (for the record, I had never heard of him before this review), they wouldn't find the hook interesting or get the point. I'd suggest expanding the article further, above 1500 characters, and see if alternative hooks can be proposed. If you need help, I would suggest asking help from 4meter4 as he is knowledgeable about music articles. For the record, the first paragraph of the article is unreferenced, so that needs to be fixed. No close paraphrasing has been found, and the nominator has less than five nominations so no QPQ is needed. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 10:18, 14 April 2024 (UTC)
- Hi, I have expanded the article. Sorry I thought the hook was interesting but I suppose a more accessible hook is that Fratti, as a professional musician, still uses the same cello she was given by her school nearly twenty years later.Battleofalma (talk) 20:52, 14 April 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for the changes. @4meter4: Do you have an idea on how the cello angle could be worded? Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 00:50, 20 April 2024 (UTC)
- @Narutolovehinata5 The sources are much more in-depth than the current article. There's quite a lot of interesting personal information in https://pitchfork.com/features/profile/chasing-the-goblin-with-mabe-fratti-the-guatemalan-cellist-at-the-heart-of-mexico-city-avant-rock-scene/ for example. I find it interesting that Fratti's religious background initially limited her to classical and Christian music, but after losing her faith she got into playing rock-n-roll on her cello. That could be interesting as a hook if that content were added to the article. In general, I think the article could be expanded further with greater details from the cited materials. It's currently a borderline stub. I'd stay away from a Ligeti hook. Avant-garde music is well known inside music intellectual circles, but I don't think it's a name that is immediately recognizable to most people. The only people who will know it will be those who seriously follow 20th century avant-garde classical music. 4meter4 (talk) 01:03, 20 April 2024 (UTC)

- @Narutolovehinata5:@4meter4: Apologies for the delay! Yes there is definitely more information to be gleaned from the sources but my focus was to get the highlights and chronology correct. The above suggestion about religion/music is good and I have expanded the article in this direction, but I also like the impact LimeWire had to her. Phrased as "(did you know) ... that avant-garde musician Mabe Fratti's religious upbringing restricted her to classical and Christian music until she discovered file sharing on LimeWire?". If this is acceptable, how do I amend the DYK? Battleofalma (talk) 11:15, 25 April 2024 (UTC)
- You can add the Limewire proposal as an alternate hook. @4meter4: Can you also perhaps propose a hook about the cello angle so that both of these proposals can be reviewed? Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 10:38, 26 April 2024 (UTC)
- Great, I have replaced the original hook proposed due to the obscurity of the Ligeti reference in favour of something which references her restriction to Christian music until access to file sharing.Battleofalma (talk) 12:12, 30 April 2024 (UTC)
