confusion with "Mackenzie Ranges"
editThe Selwyn Mountains and Mackenzie Mountains are separate ranges, this article appears to confuse the bivouac.com usage "Mackenzie Ranges", inclusive of both, with the Mackenzie Mountains proper; as I recall Keele Peak is in the Selwyns; it appears that (as per usual) geological papers do not recognize official toponymies, though I'll have to read those papers/abstracts to make sure about that comment; name-confusion of "Mountains" with "Ranges" is very common but also misleading, e.g. Selwyn Range is a subrange of the Rockies near the Yellowhead. Tungsten, also, I'm pretty sure, is in the Selwyns....both ranges straddle the border, I'll be back after perusing googlemaps for a while; I at least switched the coordinates to the range-centre given in Cdn GeoNames database from its former position in the western Selwyns...Skookum1 (talk) 15:47, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
named after...
edit"The range is named in honour of Canada's second prime minister" or should it be Alexander_Mackenzie_(explorer)? - who travelled the Mackenzie river in 1789? Note received at OTRS 2017012910003963 Ronhjones (Talk) 19:03, 29 January 2017 (UTC)
