Heavy editing
editI took it upon myself to heavily edit this article. I created a new section concerning the style of Madan Mohan's music and pared it down to one small paragraph which is concise and can be easily understood. The information on the style of his music looked like it was directly lifted from a book on the subject, and used esoteric language (e.g., "sruti", "life-throbbing pakads" and "Natabhairavi") that would be completely beyond the comprehension of someone with no knowledge of Indian classical music whatsoever. Hence, I eliminated the info and replaced it with a new paragraph. I also incorporated Mujahid Khan's information about the songs that Kishore Kumar sang for Madan Mohan into the body of the article. Bias
editThe comments on MM's orchestration are biased - who's to judge whether his style was inferior to that of SJ or SDB? In fact, Master Sonik (MM's arranger) used certain harmonic and contrapuntal figures which were decidedly missing in the plain-vanilla formulaic arrangements of Sebastian D'Souza (SJ's arranger). Listen to "Khelo na mere dil se" (Lata/Haqeeqat), "Mere dil se aake lipat gayi" (Rafi & Asha / Neela Aakash), and "Tum jo mil gaye ho" (Rafi/Hanste Zakhm), and you will notice the use of these figures very prominently. This alone should dispel any myths about MM's orchestration being inferior or mediocre. Oriental orifice (talk) 10:35, 22 March 2010 (UTC)
This is to point out a factual inaccuracy in the article. Music Director Naushad had offered to exchange all his compositions for just one song of Madan Mohan. The song is not "Aap is nazaraon ne samjha pyaar ke kabil mujhe", but "Hai isi mein pyaar ki abroo, woh zafa karen main wafa karoon" from the same movie ANPADH. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.182.96.95 (talk) 11:47, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
Correct Title
editI feel that the correct title (wiki) for this should be Madan Mohan (Music Director) or Madan Mohan (Music Composer) or Madan Mohan (Musician)
Director is misleading since it can be Film Director, whereas MM was a Music Director. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Prasadsovani (talk • contribs) 13:49, 12 March 2010 (UTC)
