inMadison.org
editBack in February, I removed a link to inMadison.org, which was an unmaintained site of limited value. An editor has replaced that link. It's a new version of the site which looks less useful that the first iteration. I don't want to enter in an edit war here, so I won't just remove it, but I really question the intent and value of the repeated addition of this link. Planetneutral talk 23:09, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
Madison Indiana Observer
editThe reference to Madison Indiana Observer has gone back and forth between a few different editors. The site was wrongly classified as a blog. It does present news in a chronological format, but the site has paid several writers, editorial oversight, and not advertising. Disclosure: I am the owner of the mentioned site but I believe it will stand up as a valuable resource along with any of the other links. Tony Kummer (talk) 01:31, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
- Momentarily ignoring the obvious conflict of interest, you are misrepresenting your site. You call yourself "blogger-in-chief"[1] and now tell us it isn't a blog? Your "citizen journalists"[2] are, in fact, bloggers. Also, the first time you added it, you called it, a "Citizen news blog". I removed it, as a blog.[3] Then, you decided it was "Citizen news".[4] As for the "back and forth between a few different editors", I see someone adding the blog several places (under an IP address[5]). Then, 11 minutes after having it removed as a blog, you materialize citing "a few different editors" and saying it's not a blog.
- You have a conflict of interest and yes, it's a blog. - SummerPhD (talk) 02:32, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
- Point taken. I am removing the link myself. Eventually, I would expect the value of that site will be more obvious. The different IP was mainly because I was editing w/o having logged in first. Thanks for the helpful suggestions. I do apologize for any difficulty. Tony Kummer (talk) 03:07, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
