- Maeve Mackinnon has just won the Best up and coming artist award at the Scots Trad Music Awards. She is of a similar stature in Scottish Music as Julie Fowlis who has her own Wikipedia page also.
- Mackinnon is widely recognised by the Scottish print and broadcast media (a Featured Artist in the BBC's 2007 Celtic Connections coverage) as a talented Gaelic singer. Please refer to the reviews in the Scotsman and Scotland on Sunday which are linked to from the article.
