Talk:Magic hyperbeam

To the powers that are:

Constructing this page might take a couple of weeks. As well as figuring out references. Things here might look like offending NOR-principles but be assured I have no intention nor inclination to display new things here. Notation used is well defined though not regularly used. I lifted the Under construction tag, since the article is more or less complete. A google on "magic rectangle" gives too many a reference to select a few decent ones on short notice. The reader is invited to do so in the appropriate section Aale de Winkel 08:04, 24 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

What cleanup!! I try to maintain highest standard, without resorting to "OR". Aale de Winkel 11:19, 24 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi there. In response to your request for help, there is a style guideline that you should follow. Also look over WP:RS and WP:V regarding citing sources. Currently the article needs some work on layout, prose and referencing. LaraLove 11:53, 24 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Excuse me, this ain't a piece of literature, but a high quality introduction into the field for the mathematically inclined, as a relief for the boring articles that tell the interested mathematically inclined reader absolutely nothing. I perhaps could use the "math" tag more, however the default suffices and the formulae are neatly boxed. Dispite the fact that my two contributions are internally contained and selfexplainatory I pasted in a few magic rectangle references, to please the wikipedia principles. The two articles do not contain "original research", merely introduce a few tools of the trade.

TO THE INTERESTED READER (should he exist...)

edit

The two articles magic hyperbeam and magic hypercubes are puny introductions to a vast field of research. Introduced notions are explained in the article context and offer a notation to keep things manageable. Though special characters have arbitrarily chosen meaning, they are implemented in hypercube / beam constructing programs.

Clean-up

edit

(Also in Magic hypercube) I came to this thinking it might need a little clean-up. I've read most of it, and chased down the references ... and I'm wondering if the entire collection of Magic Hyper Whatever articles are one big hoax! It is only from knowing some of the weird amateur mathematicians out there that I give it any chance of being serious!!

  • The references and links mostly don't work any more (I'll remove the dead ones now).
  • The article is very confusing - this to someone with some mathematical background.
  • The article is VERY LONG and very out of place in a public encyclopia.

Perhaps someone would be game to replace it with a couple of paragraphs describing what it is, and why it is interesting, and leave the rest to external links. Drpixie (talk) 07:45, 28 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
