editif the magnuson act made it possible for 105 Chinese to come to America, where is the difference to the Chinese Exclusion Act?
I'm quoting from wikis Chinese Exclusion Act now "The Chinese Exclusion Act, signed into law May 6, 1882, followed revisions made in 1880 to the Burlingame Treaty of 1868. The revisions to the treaty allowed the US to suspend immigration and Congress acted quickly to implement the suspension.
The act excluded all but 105 Chinese immigrants per year to the United States for 10 years."
Somebody please checks it? Kinda fishy to me.
- I've added a source to the article. Immigration levels in those days were set based on the national heritage of those in the country in 1880s, and there were few Chinese in the U.S. then. -Will Beback 07:10, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
