Source of name

edit

There seems to be a conflict as to the source of the name "Magura". Is the source of the name Romanian, Bulgarian, or another language?
Google translate from English to Romanian gives for "hill" among others, "măgură".

In Bulgarian, it returns a number of words including:

  • хълм - hill, mount, mound, height, eminence, prominence
  • могила - mound, hill, hillock, swelling, hump
  • баир - hill
  • наклон - incline, slope, tilt, inclination, gradient, hill
  • височина - height, altitude, elevation, pitch, hill, drop
  • бърдо - reed, hill, moor
  • стръмнина - steep, hill, slide, acclivity

Should the source of "Magura" be listed be given as Romanian, Bulgarian, another language, or a combination of languages? Jim1138 (talk) 01:27, 19 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

How about Turkish, "Mağra" is turkish for cave. Arved (talk) 12:23, 17 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
We can't use our own opinions, there must be a reliable source out there somewhere. Doug Weller talk 12:27, 17 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
