History of Sudan (1884–1898) → Mahdist Sudan — The use of dates in the title does not make the topic of the article immediately obvious. The historical period covered here is that of the Mahdist state, so this should be reflected in the title. The article dealing with the next era in Sudanese history is titled History of Anglo-Egyptian Sudan, which is a far better title than one using mere dates. BomBom (talk) 12:25, 21 July 2010 (UTC)

- Comment Perhaps History of Mahdist Sudan would make more sense, to bring it into the same format as the following period. Skinsmoke (talk) 05:10, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

'Religion' of the Mahdist State
editWhat is meant by labeling the Mahdist revolt state "Sunni"? If it's meant to refer to the general populace, then this should be noted. If it's meant to refer to the government itself, then this seems inappropriate. Zusty001 (talk) 04:15, 7 May 2022 (UTC)
- @Zusty001: You are raising a good point. I will look if I find some information on the matter. Applodion (talk) 16:56, 7 May 2022 (UTC)
