editIn Sejarah Melayu, it was mainly Si Kitul and Raja Mudaliar who created the false accusation that caused the Sultan to execute Mutahir and family, not "jealous Malay ministers"... Raja Mudaliar was a Syahbandar, his motivation for doing so is unclear, but being a Hindu, it is known that the Portuguese favoured Hindu traders and around that time was planning to attack Malacca.
