The post office standing at 301 Union now is still operating and is a heritage structure per the ref to the Seattle city site. Built in 1950's Legacypac (talk) 08:02, 27 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Yes, sorry. I was a bit confused. FloridaArmy (talk) 08:14, 27 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

I have not found proof but it sure looks like they demolished the first building in the late 50's and built the current building in 1959 on the same site. That confused things. I think it is all squared away now. Good job! Legacypac (talk) 10:36, 27 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

From the City of Seattle source "The University offered to tear down the old post office building and build new, modern facility in its place. In the deal, the government would convey the easterly 105 feet of its site along Union Street as well as 240 feet along Third Avenue to the University. In addition, the University would be granted a perpetual easement of 35 feet from Third Avenue across the southerly remaining portion for driveway purposes. In turn, a new modern Post Office building would then be constructed on the remaining portion of the site." So basically the same site with some changes to the site to accomodate the University's office building plan. FloridaArmy (talk) 14:48, 27 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
